Landscape design in North Vancouver with pool, water feature, and custom privacy panels.
Aurora

Bold & Bubbly

Big wish list in a cozy backyard was no challenge for this design. Creative design and perfect craftsmanship awarded this space as a 2020 Landscape Ontario Award of Excellence and the honourable 2020 Casey van Maris Award.

About Project

Key Features

Artificial Turf, Fire Feature, Intricate Patio, Landscape Lighting, Mild Steel Privacy Screens (Custom Bubble Design), Outdoor Entertainment Feature, Pergola (Custom), Pool, Water Feature

Site Challenges

Limited space for pool equipment required it to be placed in the backyard beside the living area and blocked with a privacy wall.

Large metal privacy panels weighed 200 pounds each, and needed to be manually carried behind the pool and placed between the posts with precision.

Project completed just before winter, so we needed to heat the area around the pool to install the liner.

Patio design required high prevision to lay and cut the stone in between the artificial turf.

Taylor was by far one of the most creative and knowledgeable individuals I have met in design.

The Design

Construction Progress

Construction of pool in North Vancouver.

First to go into this blank canvas was the pool shell. From there we set all grades and began the excavation of base material, and installed retaining walls and pergola post footings.

Construction of custom pergola in North Vancouver.

Outdoor TV and pergola structure were installed together. The frame for the TV was built and electrical run to the side of the stone structure.  TV was covered with barn doors to protect it from rain.

Construction of custom privacy screens in North Vancouver.

Custom cut CNC privacy screens were transported into the space and installed by hand. Each screen weighed 300 pounds,  required three men to carry them. Scary to walk them in beside the pools edge!

Flooring design was spaced evenly with fence boards. First two stones were laid on the corner of the pool to ensure the design was clean throughout, and then artificial turf was laid between the seams.
