West Van Rainforest

This West Coast Style home set into the forest of West Vancouver showcases a very natural style landscape. All design shapes, material selections and plant selections were chosen to blend into the forest setting. This created a seamless connection, as if nature took over the living space in a wild, yet functional way. 

About the Project

Key Features

Fire pit, boulder walls, flagstone flooring, lumber decking, native planting, extensive lighting, outdoor furniture, natural waterfall, walkways and patios.

Site Challenges

- Blending the interlocking, walls, deck and railing into the existing bedrock required 

expert craftsmanship

- Fire pit located 120 feet away from gas meter required a long deep trench for gas line. 

- Boulders were arranged and cut meticulously to appear tighter and more natural

- Down lighting in trees required arborist to climb trees and wire lights inside the tree.

Chiseled natural stone steps were set into the grade inviting you down to the grass area. Native plantings framed either side, softening the hardscape.
